"It's as intense as ever inside the garage, even if it looks a bit quiet outside. Apart from the steering rack issue in practice two, we had a solid day. We tried a heap of stuff and not everything was faster but that's what testing is all about. We got a heap of data, which is good. The end result is that we're not the quickest at the moment, so we've still got work to do to try to refine our package and be as fast as we can. I don't know at this stage exactly what happened with the steering rack, other than the pump failed. Any failure is concerning, so we'll analyse all the info massively and make sure we're on top of everything for the race."

Craig Lowndes - Car #888
"Any time you can come to a place like Mount Panorama is always very special, but it feels a little deflated without the crowd and fans because they bring the atmosphere. The car feels nice. We had that one issue with the power steering pump, which we've rectified. The last session was really positive. I'm a lot more comfortable in the car, so we'll keep working at it to find a little bit more time. My role is to help set up the racing package, I don't need to worry about qualifying, so for me it's great. I've only got half the job to do!"

Shane van Gisbergen - Car #97
"Today went ok for us. The track was completely different in the afternoon compared to this morning, but we made some positive changes to the car which is good and we made some good progress. There are some quick cars out there, so tomorrow will be an interesting day on track. Garth and I are pretty much on the same page; struggling with traction but that sort of fixed itself as soon as the rubber went down, but we'll probably have to keep chasing that when it starts raining, so it will be a bit of a mixed bag but we'll see."

Garth Tander - Car #97
"It was good to get back in the car, it's been a while. I felt a lot more comfortable in myself and in the car in the second session. We made the car better throughout the day and I'm really looking forward to having another spin tomorrow. We'll continue to evolve the car as the track conditions change – the track changes quite a lot here on the first day because so much rubber goes down, so I'll try and match the car for tomorrow's sessions."
