TIME: 16:15-18:13
CONDITIONS: Dry
FINISHED: Position 3rd
WINNER: Jamie Whincup
RECAP: What an end of season race - Tim bringing out all stops and leaving nothing on the table! Action kicked off as soon as the lights went green with incidents on lap one. Getting a great start Tim found his rhythm and race pace early on.

The first safety car was deployed early on after a racing incident between Courtney and De Pascale - Tim taking the opportunity to pit and heading back out well within the top 10. Sladey fought his way through the field with a strong competitive race car and with the second pit stop completed and 43 laps to go the race was on to bring it home!

Sitting comfortably in P4 with Shane Van Gisbergen still to pit, Tim jumped up into third place as Shane came in for his final stop. In the remaining laps, Tim was clean and fast, fighting off McLaughlin and crossing the line in P3! A flawless drive by Tim and a sensational effort by the team.

What a way to finish the year!

THE FINAL WORD FROM TIM FOR 2019
"What a day! A weekend for that matter. I finally had some results on track, and it feels great. It's been tough for a few months now so it's nice to finally get a podium and some results for myself and the boys too.

I felt great in the car all weekend so to finally have a competitive car is unreal. Tony my engineer has been working so hard lately, it's just so nice to be able to show something for it.

Thanks to all the team for their hard work and everyone at BJR. I'm happy with how the whole weekend went. To come away with 3rd is great.

Newcastle is always an awesome event, so thanks to the fans for coming out and a big thank you to Freightliner for their support this weekend. I'm just stoked to finish the year on a high!"
