Matters from Race 8
Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations
On Lap 44 at Turn 3, the left rear wheel nut was observed to fall from Car #12, Fabian Coulthard, some 22 Laps after Car #12's last Pit Stop and roll across the Circuit. The wheel nut was recovered and subsequently examined, along with the wheel and other relevant components on Car #12, by the S&TD. Because the cause of the failure could not be attributed to the Team having released Car #12 in an unsafe manner or condition, the DRD determined that no breach of the Rules was established and that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards.

Stewards' Decisions Penalties imposed
The Stewards imposed a fifteen (15) second Pit Stop Time Penalty on Car #23, Michael Caruso, for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1.1 (Careless Driving) causing contact with Car #230, Will Davison, at Turn 4 on Lap 2 which caused Car #230 to spin and lose positions.

The DRD determined that no Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the Incident and that it did not warrant referral to the Stewards.

Following the Race the DRD investigated an Incident at Turn 4 when Car #6, Cam Waters, made contact with Car #34, James Golding, as a result of which Car #34 was pushed into the wall on the exit of the Turn and lost positions. The Driver of Car #6, Cam Waters, admitted to a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1.1 - Careless Driving - and the Stewards imposed a post-Race Time Penalty of fifteen (15) seconds on Car #6.
